Installations and upgrades

The introduction of new hardware and/or software can sometimes have unpleasant side effects if not properly planned (such as incompatibilities with existing hardware/software). It also has the potential to cause a fair amount of disruption to computer users. We also approach projects of this nature with a plan, and in larger deployments we make sure everything is properly tested with existing infrastructure before rolling out to the "live" network.

Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery plan

Most businesses have some form of backup for their servers. However, if one of your key servers were to suffer a catastrophic failure, or your business premises were to be destroyed by fire, do you have a written plan of action? We all rely so heavily on our computers, e-mail and the Internet these days that loss of access to them truly can be a disaster for a business. We work with you to draft a written plan covering a variety of eventualities, and suggest a regular test schedule for ongoing peace of mind.

Systems Integration

In our experience, IT professionals tend to be "Windows people", "Mac people" or "Linux / UNIX people". If your company has machines running more than one of these operating systems, it can be hard to find assistance to make these devices interoperate and "play nicely" together. This is a particular speciality of ours.

Full network audit

Computer networks grow and evolve over time. Bits and pieces are added on an ad-hoc basis, and sometimes the result is a system which, while it might work at a basic level, isn't as efficient and reliable as it might be. We use specialised network mapping software to build an overall picture of your system, then look more closely at the configuration of key devices such as servers, routers, and other network infrastructure.
